On 24 and 25 August, the international trade show PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt will take place. The new composition of the fair is accompanied by a new setup of the novelty judging. Besides the well-known novelty trial by the KVBC, plants can be trialled for Best Market Introduction. Finally, visitors can vote for a plant to be the Visitors’ Favourite.
Plants and/or concepts can be nominated for the Best Market Introduction category. When judging in this category, the trade looks at the plant/concept through the eyes of the consumer. Important aspects in this respect are shelf life, availability, a responsible product and compliance with current market demands. The international jury consists of experts from various trade channels. The KVBC is not involved in this inspection.
New cultivars can be entered for the Best KVBC Novelty category. Judging is done by an expert and independent KVBC-jury that visually judges the plants on ornamental value, such as flower colour, flowering time and period, leaf colour, shape of the plant, etc., but also on characteristics such as health and propagation. Submission
Submission for the trials takes place via the PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt website. After registration all entries will automatically take part in the trial for the Best Market Introduction. In addition, it is possible to opt for the judging by the KVBC for the Best KVBC Novelty. For the Visitors’ Favourite, the fair organisers will nominate 10 to 15 plants from the entries.
The closing date for registration is 5 August 2022.
