After the disappearance of the research station for nursery stock (PPO) in Boskoop, the entire complex of PPO came in private hands, including the Harry van de Laar Show Garden. In 2008, the current owner (Proba) requested if the KVBC and the former Kring Boskoop of LTO could maintain the Harry van de Laar Show Garden.
This became effective in 2011 by setting up the foundation Stichting Sortimentstuin Harry van de Laar. The foundation set out to preserve and rearrange the garden. In the meantime, the KVBC was already heavily represented in this board which is also laid down in the current articles of our society: board members of Stichting Sortimentstuin Harry van de Laar should at all times be members of the KVBC. Also the board of the KVBC appoints the board members of Stichting Sortimentstuin Harry van de Laar and it has the right to dismiss at dysfunction so there is a close relationship between the Harry van de Laar Show Garden and the KVBC, but not too strong as the board of Stichting Sortimentstuin Harry van de Laar can act fully autonomously.
The KVBC has various trial fields on the Harry van de Laar Show Garden. These fields are used for the Star trials and the field trials. An overview of the current trials can be found here.
