On Friday, March 10, 11 Excellence Roses certificates were awarded in Zeist. Like last year, 11 new roses have earned the Excellence Roses predicate. They come from breeders from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. This brings the total Excellence Roses assortment to 66. The meeting took place at Tuinbranche Nederland and the president of the KVBC, Helma van der Louw, presented the certificates.
Excellence Roses are strong, healthy, mature and continuous-flowering roses that produce good results in private gardens and public spaces without the use of plant protection products. The roses that underwent the final assessment were planted in the 2019/2020 planting season. There were 27 in total. During three seasons, judges in Dutch and Belgian rosaria assessed the roses at different times of the year.
Among the 11 new Excellence Roses are floribunda roses, shrub roses, tea hybrids and a climbing rose.
