Three of the plants that won a medal of the KVBC at the 27th edition of the trade fair GrootGroenPlus have been planted by Dick Nieuwesteeg (former chairman of the KBVC) in Show Garden Harry van de Laar in Boskoop.
These are Fargesia murieliae ‘Elias’, Buddleja alternifolia ‘Pmoore12’ (UNIQUE) and Caryopteris clandonensis ‘Lissteph’ (STEPHI). The first two plants are winners of a gold medal, the third plant won a silver medal. All the plants have been placed in the presentation beds, rented by GrootGroenPlus in the Show Garden Harry van de Laar.
Fargesia murieliae ‘Elias’, submitted by Van Vliet New Plants BV from Stroe, won a gold medal thanks to the distinctive and innovative low and dense growth pattern. This plant with gracefully curved twigs and fresh green leaves make it a widely applicable plant for gardens, pots and public green. At the Florall Fair in Waregem (B) this plant also won a bronze award in March 2018.
Buddleja alternifolia ‘Pmooire12’ (UNIQUE), submitted by Boomkwekerij Out vof from Hazerswoude-Dorp can be recognized by a dense branching and relatively fine leaves. This unique and innovative plant has a healthy appearance and flowers much longer than the B. alternifolia. The management of this is carried out by Plantipp.
Caryopteris clandonensis ‘Lissteph’ (STEPHI), submitted by Fa. Lucassen Boomkwekerij in Vorden and Tree Nursery Elst van Bergen mts from Wernhout is the first pink flowering C. clandonensis and was seen by the inspection committee as a major improvement compared to the C. incana ‘Autumn Pink’. The flowers are well pink and contrast nice with the leafs. The management of this is also carried out by Plantipp.
Presenting in the show Garden and having it re-inspected at the Florall partner fair are among the many extras offered by GrootGroenPlus trade fair for its exhibitors of novelties. In 2018, GrootGroenPlus trade fair also offers the possibility to register novelties for (long-term) inspection in Zundert. The registration form for this can be found on www.grootgroenplus.nl. The 28th edition of the GrootGroenPlus trade fair will be held in Zundert from 3 to 5 October 2018.
